by the decomposed remains of wood which left dark deposits in the holes,
allow archaeologists to determine just how the posts were placed and the
relative angles at which they intersected. This then allows for fairly
accurate reconstruction's of the dwellings of the Yang Shao people (see
below). The kiln, although very small is of a type that would have allowed
for a strong draft and would therefore have been capable of relatively high
temperatures.
