Period/Date: Complex history: Gupta (ca. end 5th century)
Iconography/Iconology: Little is known about the original appearance
of the Gupta period main temple. All that remains at this time is a complex
of brick foundations, appearing much like a vihara, althought they
probably contained shrines, rather than living quarters. The archaeology
of lower levels has not been undertaken.
