Inner Asia: The Art of Nepal II: Newar Buddhist Art

The Padmini Tara Shrine at the southwest. (This goddess is usually known as Pandura [vasini] or "White-robed-one," but in Nepal she is always Padmini). Padmini Tara is paired with Amitabha and ostensibly should come after him in the circumambulation of the mandala/caitya. However, due to the requirement that the Buddha Shaktis appear to the proper left of the Buddhas (i.e., to the viewer's right) she must be placed after Ratnasambhava.
