Inner Asia: The Art of Nepal II: Newar Buddhist Art

The image of Ratnasambhava Buddha as arrayed in offerings and new garments
during the Satpujas. Ratnasambhava manifests the Samatajnana (transcendental
insight of the unity of all), knowledge of the fundamental identity of all
things and that they are but fleeting images emanated from misconceptions
of the ultimate reality. This is essentially the state of becoming and
practicing as a monk. In the paradisal context, Ratnasambhava is the regent
of the Ratnavati paradise of the south. Little is known about this paradise
and, at present, I am aware of no cult connected with it.
