Inner Asia: The Art of Nepal II: Newar Buddhist Art

Guhyesvari as it existed prior to the refurbishment of ca.1940-42. From
a series of photographs documenting the event of the refurbishment and the
subsequent consecration that is now on display in the chanting hall.
Apparently at this time the shrine was much more the "Just a hole"
as it was described to us by Suryaman Vajracharya of Haka Bahal in Patan.
The open shrine is typical of the usual Astamatrika shrines around the valley.
