Stylistic Comments: In this detail, the boulders on the mountain are essentially close repititions of the same form. The vegitation is depicted by using small hatch strokes all along the edges of the mountains and the boulders. Although this painting shows lofty mountains, their softer rounded shapes resemble more the Southern Song landscapes than the monumental mountains of the Northern Song tradition.
