East Asia: Chinese Painting through the Tang
Sealings of the type found on Chinese paintings. These indicate the
authorship of the painting, the ownership of the painting or the writer
of a colophon related to the painting. There is a very complex aesthetic
to Chinese seal writing and to the development of "archaic" seal
script. The seal at the lower right is Mongolian written in the 'Phags-pa
script. Various dates.
