Preah Ko at Rolous
879
brick, some sandstone, and stucco
This is a typical "ancestor temple."
The central tower is dedicated to Jayavarman II (802 - c. 834), the north
tower to the maternal grandfather of Indravarman, and the south tower to
his father. Images of Siva were installed and named after these royal ancestors.
The back three towers are dedicated to the wives of the ancestors in the
front towers under the guise of Gauri.
